The Catholic Grief Podcast
If you are grieving, you do not have to walk this road alone.
The Catholic Grief Podcast is a faith-filled companion for Catholics navigating loss of any kind — the death of a spouse, a child, a parent, or the quiet grief of a life that no longer looks the way you expected. Here, we bring our sorrow honestly to the Cross, trusting that Christ meets us in the midst of our pain.
As a Catholic woman, I speak to you not only as someone who is rooted in the Church, but also as someone who has walked through profound loss in more than one season of life. I know the questions. I know the silence. I know the long road of rebuilding.
This is not a space for quick fixes or easy answers. It is a place for real grief, faithful teaching, and steady hope grounded in Christ and His Church.
Through Scripture, Catholic wisdom, and practical encouragement, we learn how to carry sorrow with Jesus and discover that suffering is never wasted in Him.
You are welcome here.

A Brief Story
SpeakerIt is 3:25 AM in the morning. My tears are streaming down my cheeks, mirroring the rainstorm I am driving through. I cannot believe what is happening. How is this happening? God, where are you? I pull into the hospital parking lot, trying to compose myself and walk inside. When I enter my husband's hospital room, I drop to my knees and pray harder than I have ever prayed before. I call our priest and ask him to please come and give Shawn last rites. Then I take Shawn's hand. I cling to my rosary and pray. I am trying to hold on to hope, but deep in my heart I know. I know he is no longer in the body I am clinging to. And in that moment, I have no idea what I am going to do now. Welcome to the Catholic Grief Podcast. I am your host, Jenny Burba, a Catholic widow, author, and speaker. And this podcast was born from the kind of grief that changes everything. I know what it is to walk through devastating loss and to ask hard questions in the middle of it. Questions like where is God? Why suffering feels so unbearable? And how are you supposed to keep going when your whole life has been shattered? But I also know this Christ does not abandon us in our grief. On this podcast, we bring our sorrow to the foot of the cross. We do not rush it. We do not minimize it. We walk through it with Christ and with the truth of the Catholic faith as our guide. Together we will talk honestly about grief, healing, hope, and rebuilding life after loss. Through Scripture, the sacraments, the lives of the saints, and the quiet presence of Jesus. If you are grieving and longing for faithful hope rooted in Christ and His church, you are seen here. I invite you to subscribe to the Catholic Grief Podcast, share it with someone who may need it, and visit JennyBurba.com to find even more resources for grieving hearts. There is a time to mourn, and even in that time, Christ is near. Let's walk this path together.
